      bierstadt

Almost every year when preparing for the 14er hiking season, I have climbed mt. bierstadt (14,060) first. It is the closest 14er to me and one of the easiest. If I can hike this without any issues then I am ready to hike new and unknown-to-me mountains. This year, my youngest son trent (20) agreed to go with me on July 2. Oh and this was where I had my heart attack in 2006. This was now the second time I have scaled bierstadt since that attack and the 8th time I have been to the summit.
