Chris Wells  I grew up in western Pennsylvania, went to college in western New York, landed a teaching position in Hawaii before getting married - which took me to Iowa. Up to that point, my desire had been to eventually settle down in the White Mountains of Vermont/New Hampshire. Such beautiful country!

Secret Ego - Personal website for Chris Wells

Living for 15 years in Iowa saw many Spring Break trips to Colorado to ski. It was all over - this was where I wanted to end up. I left teaching to get involved with several internet businesses and eventually into the automotive-internet realm. I loved helping auto dealers learn how to become successful on the internet. A piece of that training was on web creation/marketing but also photography.

Chris Wells  While in Tucson, AZ (at the final auto dealership I would work at) I had a complete physical done where it was discovered I had had a silent heart attack. My doctor found a scar on my heart. This truly rocked my world. I hike constantly, work out regularly, watch what I eat and I do not smoke. How could this happen? My heart doctor said it best - "There is nothing you can do about the genes you were born with." So after an angiogram (no stent even though the blockage on the left main artery was almost 100% because I was a new patient to her and thus no record of how long I had had that blockage. A stent may have dislodged a piece of the blockage (causing unknown damage) but there was good news. My body was trying to heal itself! As I lay on the operating table, she showed me my heart pumping (a bit of a freaky experience) and how the secondary arteries on the other side of my heart had grown longer - feeding the necessary oxygen and nutrients to the damaged side. Wow! I was put on a mild medications to prevent any blockage in those arteries, had many more tests done before I moved back to Colorado.

Chris shooting at Kenosha Pass  The mountains have always been an inspiration to me. Colorado has 54 mountains peaks over 14,000 ft in elevation - I have been on top of half of them. Upon returning to Colorado, I wondered how many more I would be able to climb. It seemed my hiking days were numbered. But visiting with my new heart doctor I learned I could do anything I wanted. That ignited my long dormant desire to learn photography - to try in some small way to capture the beauty around me. This site is more about my passion for nature and God's gifts than it is about photography. I hope you enjoy my work for it is such an inspiration for me.

Most recently I have been blessed even more. I know how important it is to have balance in one's life but that is sometimes not an easy thing to maintain. I am now using a product that is bringing my body to a balance state I have never experienced before. I am using Body Balance (how appropriate is that name?)by Life Force International and love what it doing for me. I feel closer to achieving my physical, emotional, spiritual and mental balance than ever before in my life. I bike 30+ miles and walk another 10+ weekly in preparation for hiking more of Colorado's 14ers this summer. Not bad for someone celebrating a 60th birthday this summer!
