On Saturday, November 20, 2010, the GLS group hiked the Pine Valley Loop trail
outside Pine Grove (formerly just Pine), CO. The loop is an easy hike gaining 1300 ft in elevation during its 8 miles roundtrip. The hike is dominated by reminders of
the High Meadows fire of 2000 - a fire originated by lightning. This was a nice hike on a great day with wonderful companions.
A bit more elevation gain and the group started to spread out a bit. Looking off in the distance while the rest of the group approached us, this
cool vista of Banner Peak and to its right, just at the edge of the evergreens are the Cathedral Spires. Those are true rock-climbing ascents.
