I spent one very hot year in Tucson, Arizona. Every kept saying 'it is a dry heat" but . . .
To the north, Phoenix is said to be located near the desert, while
Tucson is in the desert. But since Tucson is surrounded by 5 sets of mountains, it is a high desert, and as a
result is usually about 10 degrees cooler than Phoenix. However, when you are talking about the difference between 110 and 120 - really now, who cares?
I got in a routine of hiking Sabino Canyon every weekend - always started very early in the morning - and would sometimes hit a few different desert places on other days. The desert has
its own beauty.
