      fall river road

Fall river road in rocky mountain national park was the first road to cross the rocky mountains in northern colorado. Construction was begun in 1913 by prison inmates but completed by contractors in 1920 due to little progress by the inmates. The one-way gravel road climbs to fall river pass on steep grades sometimes reaching 16%. It was the start of a magical day in the rockies.
