On Saturday, November 20, 2010, the GLS group hiked the Pine Valley Loop trail
outside Pine Grove (formerly just Pine), CO. The loop is an easy hike gaining 1300 ft in elevation during its 8 miles roundtrip. The hike is dominated by reminders of
the High Meadows fire of 2000 - a fire originated by lightning. This was a nice hike on a great day with wonderful companions.
Having just taken the previous shot of the distant snow I turned to head back to the trail when here came my group of GLS hikers up the hill. As
was typical on this hike, every time we stopped for a break it seemed that people paired up differently. The conversations and new friends made
this a very enjoyable hike. Thank you Kate.
