On Saturday, July 24, 2010, we took a leisurely drive to Estes Park with the intent of driving into, over and through Rocky Mountain National Park. It seemed to be a great day for photo opportunities. Much to our dismay, it was a very hazy day compounded by road work near the summit that had all of us driving on gravel. The dust was everywhere. However, while not great for photographs, the scenery was still inspiring.

Over the summit and back down into the forest, we took a road less traveled - discovering Lake Irene. I stroll down a well-worn path brought us to a wonderful little lake with interesting reflections. It was a wonderful find just a few miles from the park west exit.
