On Saturday, November 20, 2010, the GLS group hiked the Pine Valley Loop trail
outside Pine Grove (formerly just Pine), CO. The loop is an easy hike gaining 1300 ft in elevation during its 8 miles roundtrip. The hike is dominated by reminders of
the High Meadows fire of 2000 - a fire originated by lightning. This was a nice hike on a great day with wonderful companions.
Time for lunch. We found a rock basking in the sun that became the perfect spot to rest, soak in some rays, have a bite of lunch, try to
answer Kate's mountain trivia questions and most importantly decide where we were going to stop for a beer after the hike.
