On Saturday, September 25, 2010, I picked up my good friend and fellow photographer Sequoia for was likely our last
photo trip into the mountains before she moves to California. We have enjoyed many such mornings driving, enjoying each others company and getting some great shots in places
off the beaten path. Our destination was Steamboat Springs but our goal was to try to capture some of the autumn scenes we were being blessed with seeing.
We were well on our way to Steamboat - well past the first true morning light and starting the steady climb towards Rabbit Ears Pass. The sky was now a
clear, cloudless blue with the moon playing with the top of the horizons as we drove. Coming around a turn in the road, this magnificent golden aspen grove was such
a striking contrast to the crystal sky with the moon hovering above it. It was a shot I couldn't pass up.
