The largest peak surrounding Tucson, AZ is Mt. Lemmon, standing at 9,157 ft. It
receives on average 180 inches of snow per year - great for the snow skiing at the top of the mountain. Driving
up from the desert floor is an interesting study in climate change with a 25-30 degree drop from down below.
As we worked our way back down to the desert floor on a late afternoon, we had a wonderful sunset explode in front of us.
Devil's Thumb - Sabino Canyon is on the other side of that peak - can be clearly seen in the foreground.
