On Saturday, November 20, 2010, the GLS group hiked the Pine Valley Loop trail
outside Pine Grove (formerly just Pine), CO. The loop is an easy hike gaining 1300 ft in elevation during its 8 miles roundtrip. The hike is dominated by reminders of
the High Meadows fire of 2000 - a fire originated by lightning. This was a nice hike on a great day with wonderful companions.
Early in the hike as we walked along Pine Lake, there was a dark brown blob sitting on the ice. The zoom lens captured this muskrat just
sitting near the edge of the unfrozen water. Unfortunately, I failed to check the ISO setting on my camera so the image is a bit grainy.
