On Saturday, November 20, 2010, the GLS group hiked the Pine Valley Loop trail
outside Pine Grove (formerly just Pine), CO. The loop is an easy hike gaining 1300 ft in elevation during its 8 miles roundtrip. The hike is dominated by reminders of
the High Meadows fire of 2000 - a fire originated by lightning. This was a nice hike on a great day with wonderful companions.
Lunch over and the trail descending, spirits lifted as we kept a nice pace along the trail. Emerging from a grove of evergreens, the valley
opened up to some burn area but it seemed to pale in comparison to what lay beyond. I like this the best of all the shots on this hike.
