On Saturday, November 20, 2010, the GLS group hiked the Pine Valley Loop trail
outside Pine Grove (formerly just Pine), CO. The loop is an easy hike gaining 1300 ft in elevation during its 8 miles roundtrip. The hike is dominated by reminders of
the High Meadows fire of 2000 - a fire originated by lightning. This was a nice hike on a great day with wonderful companions.
We had reached a relatively flat area of our hike and had stopped to view our surroundings. Thru the trees was another great shot of Rosalie Peak - named after
the wife of Albert Bierstadt whose namesake mountain (one of Colorado's 54 14,000 ft peaks) is not far to the northwest.
