Every hiking season, I climb a previously scaled 14er to check the condition of my
legs and lungs. This year, I intended to do Mt. Bierstadt again but part way up the road to Guanella Pass I discovered construction had closed
the road. I back tracked and headed up I-70 to the trailhead for Grays and Torreys Peaks. I had hiked Grays twice before - once continuing over
to Torreys Peak.
At the same location as the previous image (Grays from Valley) I pivoted and got the
steep cliffs of Torreys Peak. As much as these images don't show it, Grays is actually higher than Torreys - but only by 3 feet.
